Sterbai corydoras are one of the most popular and attractive cory species, distinguished by their fine white spotting and orange fin rays. Unlike many corydoras, they tolerate the warmer temperatures favored by discus and other heat-loving fish, thriving between 75-82F, which makes them a versatile bottom-dwelling companion for a wide range of community setups. Like all corydoras they are shoaling fish that need a group of at least six and a soft sand substrate to safeguard their sensitive barbels. They forage tirelessly for sinking foods, taking wafers, micro pellets, and frozen bloodworms or brine shrimp with enthusiasm. Hardy, peaceful, and long-lived, they mix beautifully with tetras, rasboras, dwarf cichlids, and gouramis. Provide clean, well-oxygenated water and gentle flow, and a well-fed group will often spawn on the glass, laying eggs the keeper can collect and hatch separately.
