The Clarkii Clownfish has the widest range of any clownfish, spanning the Indo-Pacific from the Persian Gulf to Melanesia. It grows to around 10-12 cm and shows variable coloration, typically black flanks with yellow-orange fins and two white bands. It is famously hardy and hosts more anemone species than any other clown. House in a 115-litre reef tank at 24-26C, salinity 1.024-1.026, pH 8.1-8.4. Clarkii are active, semi-aggressive swimmers that hold their own with tangs, wrasses, and dwarf angels. Feed a varied diet of mysis, marine pellets, enriched brine, and algae foods. Add them after calmer fish are settled. Provide open swimming space plus rockwork territory.
