Jacks stand at least 142 cm and jennets 137 cm, with big individuals weighing 350-590 kg and living 25-35 years, combining impressive size with a notably gentle disposition. As sizable equines, Mammoths need ample pasture, roomy shelter, strong fencing, and the companionship of other equines. Their diet should center on grass hay with carefully limited rich grazing, since even large donkeys are prone to obesity and laminitis on lush feed.
