๐Ÿ“– Care guide

Adolfo's Corydoras (Corydoras adolfoi) comes from the upper Rio Negro in Brazil and reaches about 5 to 6 cm. Its markings are unusually crisp for the genus: a white body, a black eye band, a dark saddle along the back and an orange blaze behind the head. The similar Corydoras duplicareus is often sold under the same name and differs mainly in having a broader black dorsal stripe. Keep six or more in 80 litres or more at 23-27C in soft, slightly acidic water, pH 5.5 to 7.0, over sand with wood and leaf litter. Feed sinking wafers, frozen bloodworm, daphnia and brine shrimp. It comes from blackwater and is a little more sensitive to hard alkaline water and to nitrate than the bronze or peppered cory, so it suits a keeper already maintaining soft, well-changed water. In the right tank it is hardy enough, spawns in the usual corydoras way and holds its colours for years. As with every cory, sand and a group of six or more are the two things that decide whether it thrives.
