๐ Care guide
The Yellow Coris Wrasse, also called the Yellow or Golden Wrasse (Halichoeres chrysus), comes from the Indo-Pacific and reaches about 12 cm. Bright lemon-yellow with small false eyespots on the dorsal fin, it is a hardy and active member of the Halichoeres genus that buries itself in sand to rest. Provide a 150-litre (40-gallon) or larger reef tank with a soft sand bed at least 5 cm deep and a secure lid, at 24-26C, salinity 1.024-1.026, pH 8.1-8.4. It is reef-safe and preys on nuisance snails, flatworms, and small bristleworms. Feed mysis, marine pellets, and chopped seafood a couple of times daily. Peaceful with most tankmates, it makes an excellent, forgiving first wrasse.
