U.S. Privacy Notice
Last updated: July 26, 2026
Who we are
NetForPet is an online community and set of tools for pet owners, operated by Oded Moshe, a sole proprietorship based in Israel ("NetForPet", "we", "us"). This U.S. Privacy Notice describes how we collect, use and share the personal information of users in the United States. For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, contact us at support@netfor.pet. Residents of Israel and other countries should see our general Privacy Policy.
Information we collect
Account information โ your email address, display name, handle, and a password managed by Firebase Authentication. Profile and pet information โ anything you choose to add, such as photos and other media, pet bios, personality, goals, and health-journal records. Approximate location โ if you enable the map or area features, an approximate (coarse, not precise) location so your pets, lost-pet reports and nearby places can appear on the map. Content you create โ posts, comments, messages, reviews and listings. Usage and technical data โ device, log and diagnostic information needed to run and secure the service. If a technical error occurs in your browser, we may receive an automatic error report (the error message, a technical stack trace, the page path and the browser type โ never the contents of anything you typed).
How we use information
We use personal information to create and secure your account; to operate and provide the service's features; to show your content and pets to the people you intend; to send transactional and service messages and, where you have opted in, optional onboarding tips and a newsletter; to keep the service safe and prevent abuse; to measure and improve the service and our advertising; and to comply with law. Some optional AI features (such as suggested pet bios) send limited pet details to a third-party AI provider only when you use them; we do not use your data to train anyone's models.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share personal information only with service providers that process it on our behalf to run the service: Google Firebase / Google Cloud (authentication, database, file storage, cloud functions and hosting โ our core infrastructure); Google Maps / Places (powers the map and address search when you use location features); Google Generative AI (powers optional AI features); Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise (protects sign-in and our backend from bots and abuse); Meta Platforms (advertising measurement โ see "Advertising and your choices"); and Resend (delivers our transactional and optional email โ receives the recipient's email address and name). We may also disclose information where required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, safety or property of our users or the public.
Cookies and consent
We use cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality, analytics (Google Analytics) and advertising (Google AdSense and the Meta Pixel). The site shows a consent banner, and non-essential cookies and tracking are off by default until you accept โ refusing is as easy as accepting, and analytics and advertising storage stay disabled (through Google Consent Mode) unless you agree. You can change your decision at any time by clearing the site's stored consent in your browser. Essential cookies needed to run the service and keep it secure are always on.
Advertising and your choices
With your consent, we use Google AdSense to show ads and the Meta Pixel to measure how our advertising performs. Separately, when a new account is created, we confirm the signup to Meta server-side (the Meta Conversions API) so our advertising can be measured. That report never includes your name, email, phone number, IP address or pet data. If you accepted cookies on our site, it also carries Meta's own cookie identifiers and your browser type, so Meta can connect the signup to the ad that led to it; otherwise it carries only a one-way hashed technical account identifier that is meaningless outside our own database. This ad-measurement activity may be considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. You can opt out of this sharing by declining (or withdrawing) consent in our cookie banner; you can also opt out of personalized Google ads at adssettings.google.com.
No sale of personal information
We do not sell your personal information, and we have not sold personal information in the past twelve months. We do not sell or share the personal information of anyone we know to be under 16 years old.
Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA gives you the right to: know and access the personal information we have collected about you; delete your personal information; correct inaccurate personal information; opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (as noted above, we do not sell personal information, and you can opt out of ad-measurement sharing through our cookie banner); and not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. You can exercise most rights yourself: delete your account from the in-app account settings, which begins a server-side cascade that removes your profile, pets and content. For any request, or to appeal a decision, email support@netfor.pet. We verify requests using the information associated with your account, and you may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.
Other U.S. state privacy rights
Residents of other U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws (such as Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon and others) may have similar rights to access, correct, delete and obtain a portable copy of their personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising. To exercise any of these rights, use the in-app account settings or email support@netfor.pet. We honor the rights available to you under the law of your state of residence.
Children
NetForPet is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact support@netfor.pet and we will delete it.
Data retention
We keep your personal information while your account is active. When you delete your account, your profile, pets and content are removed through a server-side cascade. We may retain limited records for longer where the law requires it, or to resolve disputes, prevent abuse and enforce our terms.
International data transfers
NetForPet is operated from Israel and relies on service providers whose infrastructure may be located in the United States, the European Union and Israel (through Google Cloud) and elsewhere. Where personal information is transferred internationally, it is safeguarded by the providers' data-transfer frameworks and contractual protections, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
Security
We protect personal information with server-enforced Firebase security rules, encryption in transit, access controls, and regular backups. Passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication and are never visible to us. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to notify you of serious incidents as required by law.
Changes to this notice
We may update this U.S. Privacy Notice from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app, and the "Last updated" date above will change.
