📖 饲养指南
The Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever is a clever, high-energy gundog that combines retriever affection with a sensitive, sometimes intense temperament. Tollers bond very closely with their families and can be reserved with strangers, making them alert but not aggressive. They are playful and affectionate at home but need a real outlet for their working drive to be content. This is an athletic, water-loving breed that thrives on vigorous daily exercise — swimming, fetch, running, hiking and dog sports all suit it. Mentally sharp and eager, Tollers excel at agility, obedience and flyball, and they need mental as well as physical work. They are sensitive dogs that respond best to upbeat, positive training and can shut down under harsh handling, so patience and encouragement pay off. The medium, water-repellent double coat needs weekly brushing and more during seasonal shedding, with feathering on the legs and tail requiring attention. The breed has a relatively small gene pool and can be prone to hip dysplasia, progressive retinal atrophy, Addison's disease and thyroid problems, so health-tested lines matter. Well-exercised and engaged, the Toller is a joyful, devoted partner.
