๐Ÿ“– Care guide

Jackson's chameleon hails from the cool, humid highland forests of Kenya and Tanzania and is famously established in Hawaii. It grows to 23-33 cm, lives 5-10 years, and uniquely gives birth to live young rather than laying eggs. The horned males use their trio of horns in gentle jousting matches, while females are hornless or nearly so. Because of their montane origin they need cooler conditions than most chameleons: a basking spot of only 26-29 C and, importantly, cool nights around 15-18 C, with sustained heat being dangerous. House singly in a tall, planted, well-ventilated screen cage of at least 60x60x120 cm. Provide moderate UVB and maintain 60-80% humidity through frequent misting and a dripper for drinking. Feed varied gut-loaded, calcium-dusted insects. Keep handling to a minimum as they are stress-prone.
