๐Ÿ“– Care guide

Nassarius Snails are small scavenging sand-dwellers, typically 1-2 cm, sold from various tropical regions. By day they burrow beneath the sand with only a breathing siphon showing, then emerge en masse to devour leftover food, detritus, and decaying matter, actively stirring and aerating the sand bed. Add to a reef tank with a sand substrate at 24-26C, salinity 1.024-1.026, pH 8.1-8.4, acclimating slowly to avoid shock. They are detritivores rather than algae eaters, so they complement algae-grazing snails and hermits rather than replacing them. A small group is ideal for keeping the substrate turned and clean. Fully reef-safe and peaceful, they are among the best sand-bed janitors and pose no threat to corals or fish.
