๐Ÿ“– Care guide

The Neon Green Rasbora (Microdevario kubotai) comes from small forest streams in southern Thailand and Myanmar and reaches about 2 to 2.5 cm. Its colour is structural rather than pigment, so the intense apple-green appears and disappears depending on the viewing angle and lighting. It is technically a danionin rather than a true rasbora, though the trade has kept the older name. Keep a shoal of at least twelve, and ideally twenty, in a planted tank of 45 litres or more at 22-26C with a pH of 6.0 to 7.5 and soft to medium water with gentle to moderate flow. It appreciates cooler, well-oxygenated water than many tropical nanos and does poorly if kept too warm. Feed crushed micro-pellets, fine flake, live and frozen daphnia, cyclops and baby brine. It is a shy, skittish fish that hides in small groups, so numbers genuinely matter here: a shoal of six will spend its life in the plants, while a shoal of twenty will swim in the open.
