๐ Care guide
The Powder Blue Tang inhabits Indian Ocean reefs, favoring surge-swept outer slopes, and grows to roughly 20-23 cm. It is a fast, restless swimmer and one of the most ich-prone fish in the hobby, so a proper quarantine and a stress-free environment are essential. Provide a 375-litre (100-gallon) or larger tank with strong flow, high oxygenation, and long open runs at 24-26C, salinity 1.024-1.026, pH 8.1-8.4. Diet should be heavily algae-based: constant access to nori and marine herbivore foods plus some meaty supplements keeps its immune system strong. It can be aggressive toward other tangs and should usually be the only surgeonfish in the system. Best suited to established, stable reef tanks.
