๐Ÿ“– Care guide

The Jersey Wooly was developed in New Jersey in the 1980s by crossing a Netherland Dwarf with a French Angora, producing a tiny 1.1-1.6 kg rabbit with a soft, wooly coat and a famously sweet disposition โ€” it is often nicknamed the 'no-kick bunny.' With good care it lives 7-10 years. The temperament is the selling point: Jersey Woolys are gentle, calm and tolerant, which makes them popular with families and first-time rabbit keepers who want a small, affectionate companion. The wool coat, while shorter and more manageable than an English Angora's, still needs brushing two or three times a week (more during moults) to prevent mats and, importantly, wool ingestion, since rabbits cannot vomit hairballs. Feed unlimited grass hay, daily leafy greens and a small measured pellet ration, adding extra hay during moulting to help swallowed wool pass through the gut. Provide a large pen or free-roam space with a litter box, hides and chew-safe surroundings, plus a bonded companion. Watch for wool block (shrinking droppings are the early warning), dental malocclusion in the small skull, and skin or coat issues under the wool.
