📖 Care guide

The Mini Lop descends from the German Klein Widder, refined in Germany in the 1970s and recognized in the US in 1980 — confusingly, it is larger than the Holland Lop at 2–3 kg. A rounded, muscular little rabbit with lopped ears and a lifespan of 7–12 years with good care. This is a playful, people-oriented breed that genuinely uses toys: willow balls, cardboard castles and treat puzzles prevent the boredom digging and chewing that under-stimulated lops invent. Provide a large pen or free-roam space, a litter box (they train easily) and daily out-time; their sturdiness makes them more tolerant of lively (but supervised) family life than dwarf breeds. Diet is classic rabbit: unlimited grass hay, a daily bowl of varied leafy greens and a small pellet measure. The folded ears need a monthly look inside for wax or mites, teeth grow for life so chew material is mandatory, and neutering smooths adolescent territorial spraying in both sexes.
