The Tiffanie is the only semi-longhaired breed in Britain's Asian group and is closely related to the Burmilla, carrying Burmese and Persian-chinchilla ancestry. The result is a silky, elegant cat that balances playful curiosity with an affectionate, easygoing temperament. Tiffanies enjoy interactive games, climbing and exploring, but they also love a warm lap and gentle company, so they suit both active households and quieter homes. Sociable and people-oriented, they get on well with children and other pets and dislike being left alone for long stretches. The soft, flowing coat has little undercoat and mats less than a Persian's, but a comb two or three times a week keeps it in good order. The Tiffanie is generally robust; sensible care centres on dental hygiene, weight control and routine monitoring of kidney health as the cat ages.
