A young Ukrainian breed created by crossing the Donskoy with the Scottish Fold, the Levkoy is instantly recognisable for its hairless, wrinkled skin and distinctive inward-folded ears. Behind the unusual looks is a friendly, playful, dog-like cat that adores its family and greets everyone as a friend. Levkoys are active and curious, enjoying interactive play, climbing and exploring, and they mix well with children and other animals. Sociable to the core, they dislike being left alone and do best with company, whether human or another pet. Like other hairless cats they need regular bathing or wiping to manage skin oils, protection from sun and cold, and clean ears. Watch the folded ear cartilage, keep teeth healthy, and screen for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy — with attentive care the Levkoy is an affectionate, low-shedding companion.
