Panther chameleons need a tall, well-ventilated screen enclosure densely planted with foliage and climbing branches, since they live entirely in the canopy and hate feeling exposed. Provide a basking spot of 28–32°C with a clear thermal gradient, essential UVB, and humidity of 50–70% delivered through several daily mistings plus a dripper, because they drink only moving droplets and never from a bowl. Feed a varied diet of gut-loaded, calcium-dusted insects — crickets, roaches, silkworms — daily for growing animals and every other day for adults, using a low light-vitamin-D balance and careful calcium supplementation to protect their bones. Panther chameleons are strictly an observation species; handling stresses them and they bruise easily, so interact through husbandry and let them come to you if at all. They are also sensitive barometers of husbandry mistakes: metabolic bone disease from poor UVB or calcium, respiratory infection from stagnant or cold air, dehydration from inadequate misting, and — in females — dangerous egg binding even without a mate. Precise, consistent conditions are everything.
