The Javanese is a long-haired Oriental-type cat combining Balinese elegance with the extended colour range of the Colorpoint. It is brilliant, busy and endlessly communicative, thriving in homes where someone is around to answer its constant running commentary. Expect an agile athlete that climbs to the highest shelf, opens drawers and learns games faster than you can invent them. Puzzle feeders, tall cat trees, fetch and clicker training keep that quick brain occupied; without stimulation, a Javanese will invent its own mischief. Despite the flowing coat there is little undercoat, so a weekly comb prevents tangles without much fuss. Keep an eye on respiratory and dental health, and because the Oriental lines can carry heart and kidney concerns, commit to regular veterinary screening and a balanced diet across their long lifespan.
