๐Ÿ“– Care guide

The Maroon Clownfish inhabits Indo-West Pacific reefs and is the giant of its group, with females reaching 15-17 cm and dwarfing the males. Gold-banded 'Gold Stripe' variants are especially prized. They are hardy and long-lived but among the most aggressive clownfish. Keep a single fish or an established female-plus-male pair in a 150-litre (40-gallon) or larger reef tank at 24-26C, salinity 1.024-1.026, pH 8.1-8.4. Their aggression means careful tankmate selection: robust fish only, and add the Maroon last. They host bubble-tip anemones enthusiastically. Feed meaty frozen foods, marine pellets, and some greens. Provide plenty of rockwork so other fish have refuge from its patrols.
