๐Ÿ“– Care guide

The Sebae Clownfish (Amphiprion sebae) is an Indian Ocean species from the Arabian Sea, India and Sri Lanka, reaching about 12 to 14 cm. Juveniles are orange-brown and darken with age to near black, keeping two white bars and a yellow tail and face. Its wild host is Haddon's carpet anemone. Note that shops sometimes sell the unrelated Clarkii clownfish under this name, so check the yellow tail and the second bar's shape before buying. Give a pair 150 litres or more at 24-27C, salinity 1.024-1.026, pH 8.1-8.4, with generous rockwork. It eats mysis, enriched brine, marine pellets and algae preparations readily and is not a fussy feeder. This is a hardy, intermediate-level clownfish rather than a beginner one, mostly because of its adult size and its willingness to defend a territory: a mature pair will chase smaller gobies and dartfish away from their chosen corner. Plan the aquascape so other fish have retreats out of sight of that corner.
