Barely 2 cm of caramel brown and white, and it spends its entire life waving its abdomen up and down in a constant hip-swaying dance. The name is entirely earned.

๐ Care guide
The Sexy Shrimp (Thor amboinensis) has a circumtropical distribution and reaches only about 1.5 to 2 cm. Its common name comes from the ceaseless rocking of its raised abdomen, a motion thought to advertise its presence to hosts and deter predators. In the wild it lives among the tentacles of anemones, mushroom corals and bubble corals. Because of its size it genuinely suits a nano reef of 20 litres or more, at 24-27C, salinity 1.024-1.026, pH 8.1-8.4, with stable parameters and no copper. Keep it in a small group of three or more, as it is social and lone individuals hide constantly. Feed finely chopped mysis, enriched brine and powdered invertebrate foods, since a shrimp this small cannot handle large items. The practical caution is straightforward: almost any fish large enough to swallow it eventually will, so it is best kept in a peaceful nano tank with gobies and small blennies, or with no fish at all.
