๐Ÿ“– Care guide

The Skunk or Scarlet Cleaner Shrimp (Lysmata amboinensis) comes from the Indo-Pacific and grows to about 5-6 cm. Its red body bears a white dorsal stripe flanked by red bands, and its long white antennae signal fish to visit its cleaning station. It is peaceful, hardy, and one of the most useful invertebrates in the hobby. Keep in a 75-litre or larger reef tank at 24-26C, salinity 1.024-1.026, pH 8.1-8.4, with stable parameters, as all shrimp are sensitive to swings and copper. Acclimate slowly by drip. It readily eats mysis, pellets, and leftover food and will clean fish willingly. Fully reef-safe, it can be kept singly or in groups, and multiples often pair and even carry eggs.
