๐Ÿ“– Care guide

Turbo Snails (Turbo fluctuosa and relatives) are large grazing snails, often imported from the eastern Pacific and Mexico, reaching 5 cm or more. With their heavy top-shaped shells and powerful foot they are voracious consumers of hair and film algae, capable of clearing an overgrown tank quickly. Add to a 115-litre (30-gallon) or larger reef tank at 24-26C, salinity 1.024-1.026, pH 8.1-8.4, acclimating slowly as snails are very sensitive to salinity and copper. Provide ample algae; in a clean tank, supplement with dried nori so they do not starve. They prefer cooler tropical temperatures and may struggle in very warm tanks. Reef-safe and peaceful, though their bulldozing can occasionally topple loose frags, so secure rockwork and coral placements.
