The Blue Green Chromis is a damselfish found in shallow Indo-Pacific lagoons and reef flats, where it hovers in large aggregations. It reaches only about 8 cm and is one of the most peaceful members of an otherwise feisty family, though a shoal will establish a loose pecking order. Keep an odd-numbered group of five or more in a 200-litre (55-gallon) or larger reef aquarium at 24-26C, salinity 1.024-1.026, pH 8.1-8.4. Strong flow and open swimming space suit their pelagic nature. They mix beautifully with clownfish, gobies, and dwarf angels. Feed frequent small meals of mysis, finely chopped seafood, and quality flake or pellet. Keeping them in numbers reduces bickering.
