๐ Care guide
The Flame Angelfish (Centropyge loricula) comes from the central and western Pacific and reaches about 10 cm. Its intense red-orange body, four to five black vertical bars, and blue-tipped dorsal and anal fins make it one of the most sought-after dwarf angels. Well-acclimated specimens are hardy and long-lived. Provide a 150-litre (40-gallon) or larger mature reef tank with plentiful live rock and grazing surfaces, at 24-26C, salinity 1.024-1.026, pH 8.1-8.4. Feed a varied diet heavy in marine algae and spirulina, supplemented with mysis and angel-specific foods. It is generally reef-safe but may sample coral polyps or clam mantles, so monitor closely. Bold for its size, it holds its own with tangs and wrasses; keep only one dwarf angel per tank.
