๐Ÿ“– Care guide

The Keyhole Angelfish (Centropyge tibicen) is a western Pacific dwarf angelfish reaching about 16 to 18 cm, which makes it one of the largest in its genus. Adults are near black with a vertical white oblong mark on each side and yellow along the lower body and tail edge. Juveniles carry a blue-ringed spot that fades with maturity. Because of its adult size it needs 250 litres or more, at 24-27C, salinity 1.024-1.026, pH 8.1-8.4, with mature live rock providing grazing and hiding places. Feed a varied diet of spirulina and algae-based preparations, mysis, enriched brine and angelfish formulas containing sponge, offered two or three times a day. It is hardy and among the more peaceful dwarf angels. The standard dwarf-angel caution applies honestly: individuals may nip at LPS corals and clam mantles, so it is reef safe with an asterisk and the risk varies from fish to fish.
