๐Ÿ“– Care guide

Hailing from the Pacific scrub and dry forest of central Mexico, Brachypelma hamorii is a slow-growing terrestrial species reaching a 12-14 cm legspan. Females are extraordinarily long-lived, frequently 25-30 years, making this a genuine long-term commitment. Wild populations are CITES-protected, so only ever buy captive-bred spiderlings. Provide a floor-space terrarium with 8-10 cm of slightly moist coco-fibre substrate, a cork hide, and a water dish; keep temperatures 22-27C with low-to-moderate humidity. They are ground-dwellers that seldom burrow deeply as adults. Feed juveniles twice weekly and adults every one to two weeks with correctly sized insects. Docile but not tame, they readily kick urticating hairs and may flee rather than bite. Avoid handling near your face, and give a fresh, clean molt several days of undisturbed rest before feeding resumes.
